Marketing / HVAC

HVAC marketing, split by what you are actually buying.

Short answer

HVAC marketing companies sell either owned assets or immediate demand. An agency builds your website, local search presence, tracking and reputation, which compound over months. A lead vendor supplies homeowner inquiries this week. The deciding question is whether your bottleneck is visibility or volume. theBuildd sells exclusive HVAC opt-ins and, through partner theStacc, optional local SEO; it is not a full-service agency.

Agency or lead vendor

Two different purchases, often confused.

Both are sold under the phrase "HVAC marketing". They solve different bottlenecks, and buying the wrong one is the most common way this budget is wasted.

A marketing agency

Builds assets you keep: website, local search visibility, paid media management, tracking and reputation. Right when your visibility is the problem. Results compound over months, and the contract should name every account and asset you retain on cancellation.

A lead vendor

Sells homeowner demand that already exists. Right when your visibility is fine but volume is short, or when you need opportunities before an agency engagement could compound. You keep nothing when you stop paying.

Which theBuildd is

theBuildd is a lead vendor. We sell exclusive residential HVAC opt-ins under coverage agreed by trade and ZIP code. We are not a full-service agency, and we say so on every comparison we publish. Local SEO is available as a separate monthly add-on through our partner theStacc.

What moves HVAC demand

The trigger, and the season around it.

The demand trigger

HVAC demand spikes on the first genuinely hot day and the first genuinely cold one. A system that was merely tired in April becomes an emergency in July. That means marketing performance in this trade is judged less on annual averages than on whether the plan was ready in the four or five days when a whole neighbourhood decided at once.

The seasonal shape

Two peaks, two shoulder seasons, and a plan that has to behave differently in each. The peaks reward availability and speed; the shoulders reward planned work such as maintenance agreements, replacement assessments and indoor air quality. A marketing partner who cannot describe what your budget does in April and October is managing one half of your year.

Why generic plans underperform

Repair and replacement are separate businesses that share a van. A no-cool call and a planned system replacement have wildly different ticket sizes, close rates and follow-up needs, and a cheap repair lead can be worth more than an expensive replacement lead once the relationship is counted. Blending them into one cost-per-lead number makes the cheaper channel look better than it is.

Job mix

Separate these before you spend anything.

Pooling them into a single cost-per-lead figure is what hides an underperforming channel.

HVAC FAQ

Ask an agency these three.

They are trade-specific on purpose. A generic answer to any of them tells you what the engagement will be like. Call 860-758-8094 to talk about leads instead.

What specifically changes in my campaigns before the first heat wave and the first freeze, and who approves it?
Ask this before signing. A capable partner will answer it specifically; a generic answer here is the signal to keep looking.
Do you separate repair, replacement and maintenance reporting, or report one blended number?

If you choose leads

What theBuildd actually sells.

Add dispatching to a monthly plan and our callers work the opt-ins by phone, then live transfer or book the appointment. In a heat wave that is often the difference between a lead worked and a lead lost.
